A Brief History of Auburn Valley Ranch

Lori Jo Zittrer, owner and House Manager, has lived at Auburn Valley Ranch for the past 24 years. Here she raised her family, celebrated holidays and special times with family and friends. As her children grew up and left home, Lori Jo began considering remodeling the home for purposes of overnight accommodations. She took some courses in Inn Keeping and spent some time "inn-sitting" to get a feel for the business. From 1996 until late 2002, Auburn Valley Ranch operated as a first-class Bed and Breakfast, acquiring an ever-increasing number of loyal returning guests, including honeymooners, anniversary and birthday celebrators, vacationing families, property seekers, golfers, and many others.

However, over the years of operation as a Bed and Breakfast, Lori had several guests who stayed for extended periods of time. Lori found that the Ranch lends itself very well to extended stay accommodations, due partly to its location on 5 peaceful acres in a country setting, and also due to the configuration of the house, which allows boarders privacy in their own rooms, yet offers a warm home-like atmosphere.

And so, because of the success Lori had with long-term guests, Auburn Valley Ranch began, in late 2002, to focus on filling the needs of the long-term guest. We welcome those who are awaiting the completion of their newly constructed home, are "in-between" escrows, new arrivals to the county seeking short term housing while looking for property to purchase, vacationers who are using Auburn as a "jumping off" place to sight-see in Northern California, etc, corporate travelers, or friends enjoying periodic get-togethers.

Individual fully furnished rooms can be rented on a weekly or monthly basis.
